Description
This is a very nice World War II U.S. Army Air Corps Distinguished Flying Cross in its titled black leatherette presentation case that is in excellent condition. The bronze planchet is with a bright finish on both the obverse and reverse sides. It is suspended from its original ribbon, which is strong, solid and with vibrant color. The cross is mounted on the correct World War II style slot broach with its complete with functional pin and roller locking catch assemblies on the back. The titled black leatherette case is excellent with the lid titled, “DISTINGUISHED FLYING CROSS” on two lines in gold leaf letters. The underside of the lid is lined with gold satin which is pristine and undamaged. The gold flocked bed upon which the cross rests is clean and undamaged. The pinback ribbon bar and lapel pin are both present in the case. This is a beautiful example of a World War II DFC that remains in excellent condition. 9141
